Tattoo 34 is located in the heart of Hawthorne Boulevard. Across the street from multiple boutiques and a spa, sits a little piece of Hawthorne History. Toby started tattooing in the Bay Area, but moved to Portland for a place to settle with his family. He worked at Hawthorne ink for a year before the owners asked if any of the artists wanted to buy the shop. He and his wife, Nisha Supahan, have rebranded the Hawthorne classic into a new space filled with art, community, and culture.
Every first Friday, Tattoo 34 hosts different artists, groups, musicians, or poets. Toby opens his door to everyone and thinks of his clients as family. His a First Nations Native and has been a maker and artist all his life.
The shop is open seven days a week from 12pm until 8pm, and by appointment at other times. They welcome walk-in’s and have flash sheets to choose a design from, however, the artists specialize in high quality custom drawn pieces as well. For custom work, appointments are needed. All Tattoo 34 artists use all vegan inks and disposable needles.
Stop in and say hi to Toby and feel free to come by on first Friday to support local art.
