Start your year with visiting the DCBS Career Fair 2017
to explore careers in consumer protection and business regulation
The Department of Consumer and Business Services (DCBS) is hosting a career fair on Friday, Jan. 13, 2017, to enhance the ongoing recruitment efforts and promote DCBS divisions as the employer of choice. The career fair runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Conference Room 260 at the Labor and Industries Building in Salem. Fairgoers can drop in, share their resume when registering, and learn what DCBS is all about.

An Evening with Poet Laureate Elizabeth Woody

Elizabeth Woody was named Oregon’s 8th poet laureate in May 2016. She is the first Native American to hold the title. Woody was born in Arizona on the Navajo Nation reservation. She is also a member of the Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs and has lived in Oregon for much of her life. Her first book of poetry, Hand Into Stone, won a 1990 American Book Award, and she received the William Stafford Memorial Award for Poetry in 1995. She also writes short fiction and essays, and she is a visual artist.
