Bureau of Labor and Industries (BOLI) Office Specialist 2 (BOLI Reception – Bilingual Spanish)

The Bureau of Labor and Industries (BOLI) is dedicated to protecting the rights of workers and citizens to equal, non-discriminatory treatment through the enforcement of anti-discrimination laws that apply to workplaces, housing and public accommodations.

 This Office Specialist 2 (BOLI Reception – Bilingual Spanish) position is with the Wage and Hour Division which administers and enforces legislation enacted for the protection of Oregon wage earners, including legislation covering minimum wage/overtime and working conditions; wage collection; wage security fund; statewide sick time; employment of minors; private employment agencies; farm/forest labor contractors; and prevailing wage rates.

 The successful candidate will provide primary receptionist service for the BOLI Portland office, which includes answering a multi-line telephone at the main reception desk; greeting customers on the phone and in person; responding to non-technical inquiries concerning explanation and clarification of agency rules, policies, procedures, and programs for the Civil Rights Division, Wage and Hour Division, Technical Assistance for Employers, Apprenticeship and Training Division; and direct inquiries as appropriate.


Spanish bilingual skills are mandatory for this position. The successful candidate will be able to speak, read, write, and interpret Spanish fluently, and will earn 5% more than the salary listed on this announcement
