SUPERVISES: Two AmeriCorps staff
HOURS: Full-time, permanent

The Confluence Environmental Center’s AmeriCorps Program, launched in 2011, builds
environmental equity in the Portland area by partnering with schools, government agencies and
community-based organizations. In partnership with 22 agencies, Confluence AmeriCorps
develops 11-month long AmeriCorps Member positions that address a wide variety of
environmental issues, particularly in low-income communities and communities of color.

The Program Director is responsible for developing and managing the 22-Member AmeriCorps
Manage and direct the AmeriCorps Program.
Manage relationships with the Board of Directors, Oregon Volunteers (OV) Program Officer,
Palouse-Clearwater Environmental Institute (PCEI) and Confluence Environmental Center
Manage federal grant with the Corporation for National & Community Services (CNCS).
Monitor strategic direction of funders and respond accordingly.
Supervise and support AmeriCorps staff.
Deepen relationships with organizations in under-resourced communities.
Manage annual Request for Proposal (RFP) and Partner Selection.
Manage relationships with Project Supervisors and 22-Member cohort.
Compile and deliver OV Progress Reports.
Analyze and implement policies and programming that center racial and social justice.
Develop and manage contracts, invoicing, deposits and in-kind.
Manage and support Supervisors (Supervisor Orientation, Equity Training, Supervisor Day,
Monthly Announcements, Site Visits, Evaluations, RFP, Supervisor Transitions, Mediations,
Partner Satisfaction Survey, and equity coaching).
Manage and support Members (Member Orientation, Member Training, Work plans, Site
Visits, Site Reports, Member Appreciation, Evaluations, Mediations, Exit Interviews,
Commencement and equity coaching).
Manage of Member Training Fund.
Collaborate with CEC Board (monthly meetings, fundraising, grants and equity work).
Manage challenges using equity-informed conflict resolution practices.
Participate in staff meetings, planning retreats and other team building activities.
Oversee technology and program databases.
Oversee programmatic files.
A degree in education, human services, natural resources or another relevant field of study.
Lived experience and/or strong skills in advancing racial equity and social justice.
Experience coordinating AmeriCorps Members or volunteer programs.
3-5 years of program management and direct supervision experience.
Proven ability to serve on a team while providing strong leadership and direction.
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to authentically engage with diverse audiences.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple projects, interests and timelines.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and database management.
Ability to work independently, with regular and reliable attendance.
Willingness to travel to meetings in various parts of the region and work occasional
evenings and weekends.
Pass federal, state and National Sex Offender background checks.
Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
Strong sense of humor with desire to join a fun and forward-thinking team.
Experience leading culturally-specific education, activities or events.
COMPENSATION: $45,000 – $50,000; depending on experience

and retirement, a $300 training fund, cell phone allowance, mileage reimbursement (for work-
