ONAC’s Student Academic Award (SA2) Program provides direct financial assistance to our American Indian and Alaskan Native students who seek to use their education as a means of service to their respective communities.
American Indian & Alaskan Native students face a unique set of challenges in gaining access to a college education and are one of the most underrepresented groups both in college and in the degree-holding population. ONAC is dedicated to improving Native American student access to higher education by reducing barriers and providing critical financial support.
Since 2012, with the generous support of our partners, ONAC has awarded over $100,000 in scholarships to Native students. Through our SA2 Awards, ONAC invests in American Indian & Alaskan Native students, throughout their academic career, to empower and support the individual and the community, to provide transformational change.
All SA2 awards are based on need, community impact, and student success. ONAC affirms the importance of legacy, and is committed to supporting our students through the life of their academic career.
For the 2023-2024 academic year, awards will range from $2,500 – $5,000, and will be determined by ONAC’s Board of Directors. The number of awards vary each year, depending upon available funding. The 2023-2024 Student Academic Award (SA2) will be presented at ONAC’s 18th Annual Gathering this fall. Award recipients must be able to attend ONAC’s Annual Gathering to receive their scholarship award.
